Oftentimes I am asked what businesses opportunities I am involved in that work. Honestly I haven't found too many that are easy enough for the Average Joe to be able to make any real money in a short amount of time. IM (Internet Marketing) is tough. It takes a tremendous amount of learning, a lot of time, and even more patience and perserverance.
There are many ways to earn money online. Most require extensive training, but if you have an interest and willingness to learn it is not out of reach for you. I, personally, love it and most hours of the day, this is where you'll find me -- at my PC!
What in the world is PTC---Paid To Click?
It's an ever evolving, sometimes frustrating, but very easy way to make money online. Anyone can do it, even a six year old. However, after a year of familiarizing myself with PTCs, I've found most of them to be short lived and eventually turn into scams.
If you are familiar with TEs (Traffic Exchanges) you will see it is much like that, except that instead of trading ads, you get paid to see them. They are free to join, but you can invest in upgrading membership, if you so choose. Here's the basic concept:
You get paid to click on ads and visit websites. You simply click a link and view a website for 20-30 seconds to earn money. You can earn even more by referring friends. You'll get paid (usually $0.01-0.05) for each website you personally view and for each website your referrals view. Payments are processed usually through Alertpay, Paypal, or E-gold. You can open an account at there by following those links. It is free.
Earnings Example:
» You click 10 ads per day = $0.10
» 20 referrals click 10 ads per day = $2.00
» Your daily earnings = $2.10
Your weekly earnings = $14.70
» Your monthly earnings = $63.00
The above example is based only on 20 referrals and 10 daily clicks. Some days you will have more clicks available, some days you will have less. It only takes a few minutes a day and adds up before you know it. Of course, the secret to making more money is in getting referrals.
If you can't get them on your own, sometimes you can buy or rent them. Sites that are established, have referrals that come in without being referred by someone else. They will sell or rent them to you depending on what site it is and if they are available. Be aware, though, that the majority of those referrals are not actually even real human beings. Most are bots, which is an automated system set up within the site to click for you. Most sites using bots have been proven to fail.
TRICKS OF THE TRADE
I've learned some things about PTCs that I hope will help you. Newbies can rest assured they can be guided in the right direction. Hopefully my trials and errors will save you some time and money.
I belong to a lot of PTC sites, but I am not active in them all. Some I have been paid from and some I have not. There are only 3 that I trust, at this time. The rest I am still watching to see how secure they are for investing.
PTCs can be very risky for investment purposes. Generally I do not invest money in upgrades and referrals unless I feel they are an established site. They need to have a forum where I can go see what other members are posting and whether they are actually getting paid and how admin handles problems. If I read there are lots of problems, not being addressed in a helpful way, that's a red flag. Good topics to search for these issues in are "Support" and "Bugs".
There are many scam sites that appear one day and are gone in a very short time....along WITH trusting members' money. Usually what I do is, join as a free member for awhile and watch the forums until I feel comfortable giving them my money.
Other Red Flags:
- Not sending confirmation email
- No Forum
- No way to contact administration
- Constant server problems
- No payment proofs
- Payment delays

This one was launched May 1, 2008. I have received payment from them, more than 23 times, so I know they do pay. In fact, if you are a Gold Member, which I am, you get paid to your Alertpay account instantly, which is a feature that is rare in PTC and Neobux was the first to implement it.
Neobux is now my second favorite. Launched May 2008, it seems to have proved to be one of the longest sustaining PTCs. Admin spent time in prelaunch to build a PTC that would work for the long haul. Also, Admin is very active in the forums, answering questions and keeping members updated. New additions are always being added to make Neobux a better and more stable PTC.
Although, I don't recommend newbies to invest there until they get a feel for the site and how the renting works, it is positively safe to start a free account and click to earn. I have invested money there, which is optional, and have confidence it will be profitable for a long time to come.
My earnings at Neobux total over $1500. Only 500+ of that has been cash in hand, after reinvesting in ref rentals and a few jackpots. But I don't think that's too bad, considering I only paid $50 out of pocket. *smiles*

#2 PTC is Hits4Pay. A highly reputable PTC that has been around since 1998. They pay .02 per ad and 2 levels of referrals. This is a marketer's paradise. If you know how to get referrals on your own, the 2 levels make it very worth while because it is exponential. Best of all, you get a $10 bonus when you sign up. Payout is through PayPal. TakeTheGlobe was at one time first place in my top PTCs. It has the highest ROI (return on investment) but is no longer paying on time. Admin has stated the site is in process of switching to v2 system. We'll see what happens. Read more....
***Update: Persian PTC is no longer paying and has been added to the scam list
This one was launched in April 2008. I have received payment from them twice but they are now far behind on payments. Persian PTC started out with an average of about six ads a day but have become very irregular. The ads range from .01 to .05 each, which is great, but you never know how many you'll get on any given day. Membership is free but you can upgrade up to four levels, which includes referrals being added to your account regularly. I am upgraded there, but I don't recommend investing there at the moment.
